Hey everyone!
The writing is still a challenge. Last week’s endeavor – to isolate why I’m actually telling this story – does seem to be working, very incrementally. I’ll be working hard on it next week, as I’ll be at the Pelee Island Book House on a writer’s retreat. I’ll also be attending workshops hosted by none other than Margaret Atwood. Yeah, no pressure there. But! It’ll be fantastic and a week away to write, hang out with writers, and talk about writing? I’m in.
This week’s show features a short interview with Noelle Allen about Wolsak & Wynn‘s spring launch event. Our feature interview is about the fantastic Hamilton Review of Books. We talk with editors Dana Hansen and Rhonda Dynes about the genesis of the project, the concept of book reviews, their new issue and the upcoming fundraising event.
Oh, I almost forgot…this weekend I traveled to lovely Paris, Ontario to participate in a workshop on marketing yourself as an author. It was run by author Krista Foss, the writer-in-residence at the Paris Library, and I was joined by great company – authors Sally Cooper and Amanda Leduc.
To tie it all together, then: given I just did a workshop on marketing, I’d be remiss not to mention that there’s an article on me and my book in the new issue of the Hamilton Review of Books.
It all comes full circle. Enjoy the show!
