I don’t get paid to host and produce GET LIT.
It’s a lot of work – reading a book a week, setting up interviews, doing said interviews, editing, promoting.
Why do I do it? A love of books and writing, getting a chance to converse with fellow authors and give back to the wonderful and supportive community I’ve met in the last few years.
GET LIT wouldn’t happen it wasn’t for CFMU.
93.3 CFMU FM is listener-supported radio. Our programs are produced by volunteers from the community. We address local issues, promote local and under-represented music, and feature unique voices. We give voice to those who need it. Our website cfmu.ca, has become a community information hub, providing an outlet for new music, new voices, and new ideas, expressed through audio, the written word, and video.
If you enjoy and/or appreciate what I’ve been doing with GET LIT, I would humbly ask you to consider pledging to this year’s fundraising drive (click here). The money doesn’t go to me, but that’s okay, I don’t want it. I want CFMU to continue providing a platform for about 110 podcasts every week. For all the effort and love I put into this show, there are volunteers pouring their hearts into another 110 programs.
Naturally, I will remind you on this week’s show (an interview with author Kit Dobson). Even five bucks will go a long way. If you can’t afford it, help CFMU spread the word.
Thanks folks
Jamie
