E257 with NATHANIEL G MOORE
Hey folks! For much of the show’s run I’ve been corresponding with Nathaniel G Moore, who works in part as a literary publicist. Kinda cool, then, to have him on to talk about his writing – specifically the compilation Honorarium: Essays 2001 – 2021. Hope you enjoy the show.
E256 with STEPHEN HAYES
Today we talk with former CFMU producer/host (“Soundtracks”), filmmaker (“Lucky Seven“) and now author (“When The Luck Runs Dry“) Stephen Hayes. I enjoyed this one not only because I know the guy, but because we were able to discuss the challenges, differences, and benefits of adapting your own screenplay into fiction. Maybe I can get Tarantino on the show next?
Also! The Governor General’s Literary Awards finalists were announced. Wild. I will call myself “finalist-adjacent” because one of the fiction finalists is Gord Grisenthwaite! I edited the novel “Home Waltz” and I’m super excited for him.
Other folks I know or have at least interviewed? Joe Ollmann for Fictional Father, Rebecca Salazar for Sulphertongue, and Jenna Butler for Revery. Cool stuff. Congrats to everyone!
E255 with CATHERINE FOGARTY
Hi folks, happy October! Today we talk with author and producer Catherine Fogarty about her book, Murder On The Inside: The True Story of the Deadly Riot at Kingston Penitentiary. Check out the show.
E254 with DAVID GIULIANO
Hey all! This week we talk with David Giuliano. His novel is called The Undertaking of Billy Buffone. Recommended. Enjoy the chat!
E253 with KATHLEEN WINTER
Hey all! This week I had the pleasure of talking with Kathleen Winter once again. Her newest, Undersong, is available now!
Though I have no details yet, I’m scheduled to host an online event with Kathleen on Oct 18…stay tuned for details!
E252 with DENISE DAVY
Hey everyone! Today’s interview is with author and former Hamilton Spectator reporter Denise Davy. Her book Her Name Was Margaret is a look at the life of a houseless woman in Hamilton and a brief history of psychiatric care in Canada. A very compelling read. Tune in!
E251 with DOROTHY ELLEN PALMER
Hi folks! The excellent Dorothy Ellen Palmer is back this week. We’re discussing her new novel, an incredibly original take on Holmes – Wiggins: Son of Sherlock. Hope you enjoy.
E250 with TARA GEREAUX
